We left Port Macquarie airport to fly to Sydney on the QF2171 flight. Our accommodation in Sydney is 4½ stars. We stayed at the Oaks Maestri Towers on Sussex Street where my room is number 68 on level 21. I am sharing this particular room of mine with Denis and we unpack our stuff and then we settled down. Then after that Mick and I went shopping. We are settling down for dinner having chicken & salad and then we will talk about what we are going to be doing tomorrow.
We left go to the Paddy Markets where some of us bought some things. We walked down to Darling Harbour to check out the IMAX sessions, they were (Wild Africa 3D, Sea Monsters 3D, Dinosaurs 3D, Beowulf 3D & Deep Sea 3D) which is owned by LG. Then Mick bought the tickets for Monday to the Sydney Aquarium and Wildlife World. We then went to China town and met Peter’s daughters Lisa & Jody and we sat down and had lunch. After that we went to the Darling Harbour shops where I met up with my sister, Joanne just outside the King Pin Bowling Alley. We went to Gloria’s Jeans. I had hot chocolate and a caramel slice. We spoke to my sister Joanne about the Billy Elliot show that we are going to see on Wednesday. We went to the Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife and Space Station 3D at the IMAX Theatre. We had lunch at the cafe called Plato’s where I had an open chicken roll. After that we went back to our Oaks Maestri Towers Hotel to get cleaned up. We went on the Captain Cook Cruises and then we went to Coogee to see the place with Peter’s daughters. After that we came back to our Oaks Maestri Towers Hotel to get ready to go to bed. We decided to have breakfast at the Harbour Side Arcade and then we caught the water taxi to the Sydney Opera House for a tour of the place. We walked from Circular Quay to the Sydney Centrepoint Tower where we saw the Oztrek show and we went to the top of the tower for photos and to see the view of the whole city. We came back to our rooms to have a rest and then we went to the Kingsleys Steakhouse for dinner. We went to the Queen Victoria Building via the bronze statue of the queen just outside the building. I went to the ABC shop to buy a broadcast book of Year 2008 but I’ve failed. This is mainly because there is no music CD of it yet, only the book and it’s very expensive. (I did try to go back there later by the Wednesday, 16th July, 2008 after my family had seen the Billy Elliot Show the 2nd time around but it’s closed). We then went to the Tea Rooms where I had a mochaccino and we had lots of cakes and scones. We left the Queen Victoria Building to go back to our Oaks Maestri Towers Hotel to get to the Billy Elliot show at the Capitol Theatre my 1st time around. After that we arrived at the theatre by 12:36pm please see the photo above this text underneath the date. After that we had the fishermen’s basket at the Oaks Maestri Towers Hotel. We could not eat it all mainly because there was too much food. We had to get ready to out of the door to have breakfast at the Red Barista Cafe just outside the Town Hall Square. After that we boarded a train from Town Hall station to Circular Quay. We went on the ferry to Taronga Zoo. As soon as we arrived at the zoo we rode on the sky lift cable car to get to the top part of the zoo. We looked at some of the animals and we had morning tea inside the Taronga food Market at the Cafe called Ritazza. After we took more photos as I am the only one taking lots of photos and then we had lunch at the Treetops cafe and shortly after we looked at some more animals and we decided to leave the zoo to go back to our hotel. On our way back to our hotel we saw the tap dancer on the corner of George Street & Park Street. After that we decided to have pizza at the Oaks Maestri Towers Hotel instead of going out again. We had breakfast at the Carmela’s Cafe and then we came back to our rooms to get ready to go out to the Doyle’s Fishmongers for lunch. After I had my lunch I had the white chocolate cheesecake for desert while some of the other had theirs. As soon as we left the restaurant one of the seagulls in the area put some of it’s droppings on onto my face, Yuk! By 3:40pm we left Watson’s Bay to go back to Circular Quay via the Opera House. We caught the train to Town Hall station to go back to our Oaks Maestri Towers Hotel to rest. Then we went to the King Pin Bowling to have some fun. After that we came back to our Oaks Maestri Towers Hotel to have KFC for tea just before going to bed, mainly because the next day we had to get ready to board the plane to go back home.
